Bozava is a tourist place and a bay with a population of 160 a an altitude of 20 meters above sea-level in the northern part of Dugi otok (Long Island). It was inhabited in the Illyrian times and has preserved its appearance up to day.
The cemetery church of St. Nikola dates from the 9th century, when the place was first mentioned as a parish. Numerous houses on the coast have gun-holes which were used in defense against the Turks. The Veli rt (Big Cape) lighthouse is extremely attractive. The wild-growing botanic garden has a natural phenomenon: the "debeljaca" - tree does not grow anywhere else in the Mediterranean.
