"Trip to Puglia" dinner

Harold says 8 years ago
1/18/09 -This trip to Felidia's was to experience the new "Felida's family style" where you supposed to be sitting in "Grandma's Kitchen in Puglia" and she is cooking just for you. While this meal was highly rated by USA Today and by other reviewers, our experience did not reach the level of enjoyment of our previous dinners at Felidia's. Our ratings for the night: The Service, excellent, the atmosphere, Felidia's comfortable, the wine was paired beautifully, and the food not quite up to our expectations. Four comments on the food: The warmed ricotta- was never near any heat source, the chicken-far underdone, the beef- cold and the manicotti -overcooked. A final comment is on the "offered 'indulgence', pasta with black truffle". The dish was truly outstanding but a small warning on the cost would have been appropriate. Overall, we will be back, but not for the trip to Puglia.

Felidia, New York City - Restaurant Reviews - TripAdvisor
Service and presentation of the food were top-notch, although, pound for pound, I've had better meals here in Philly. I ordered the pear and pecorino ravioli, which were highly recommended. They were very good, but so rich I was unable to finish them. Definitely overpriced, but I knew that going in....

We made a reservation for a Saturday night, and it does seem that reservations a couple of weeks ahead is needed often. We arrive on time at the restaurant which has 2 levels and big glass windows.
