Gornji Bogicevci is a municipality with a population of 880. It is an old settlement mentioned as a parish in 1334. The Holy Spirit church was built in 1830. It is a rich agricultural area just like the whole surrounding area of Nova Gradiska. It is located on the Nova Gradiska-Okucani road closely linked with Okucani. It was greatly damaged in the Serbo-Croatian war.
Gornji Bogicevci was the first place damaged in the war that has been renovated after the military action "Lightning". By taking that action, the Croatian army set free this area. The renovation of the place began in 1995 - 6. |
