No title - expert review In the heart of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, historic Chamounix Mansion has welcomed overnight guests and groups for nearly forty years. Originally built in 1802 as a country home, the mansion rests on a scenic bluff above the Schuylkill River and is convenient to Philadelphia's cultural and histo... bootsnall.com
No title - expert review This is the cheapest place to stay in Philadelphia - $15 a night if you're an American Youth Hostel member, $18 if you're not. The restored 1802 Federal-style country estate is loaded with character. Flags line the entrance hall; rooms are styled after an 1850 country villa and walls are decorated w... fodors.com
No title - expert review The oldest building offering accommodations in town, this renovated 1802 Quaker farmhouse is also the cheapest. It has six air-conditioned dormitory rooms for 44 people, with... frommers.com

That quibble aside, I enjoyed my stay (April, 2004) and have recommended it to friends, and will do so whenever asked. Not REAL easy to... hostelz.com
No title - user review I stayed in this hostel for one night only but it was enough to impress me. Firstly for the staff met only two people Andrew, and a lady (didn't get her name) both were very congenial and helpful, so no problems there. Next the hostel as such. It's an old building so you get creaky sounds of the old... hostelz.com
No title - user review It was my first experience in a hostel in U.S.A. I really liked this hostel. With international student ID or Student advantage card, you get fifteen percent off. The receptionist guy, who has been working there for six years, was really helpful. The hostel does not provide any food/cafes but there ... hostelz.com
No title - user review This place is every bit as beautiful as its name, and the people were incredibly friendly. Problem: it's way out of the city, you have to ride a bus and then walk a mile (!) to get to the hostel itself. Also, there are not a lot of... hostelz.com
