SOUTHERN OR FRENCH???

RICHARD says 14 years ago

This used to be one of the best French restaurants in Orlando. The original owners came from
France about 40 years ago. They opened their restaurant in a small house. The husband was the chef
and the wife was the maître d'. The husband's cooking was good enough for him to win several
awards. However, today they are in their 70s and the wife is retired. The husband still cooks occasionally.

Recently, they made an arrangement with another couple. Again, the husband is the cook and the wife
handles the front desk. The new couple introduced Southern cooking to this French restaurant. On their sign
and their menus it says: "Bon Apetit, Y'all"

If you want Southern cooking this might be the place. If you want strictly French cooking, this might not be the place.
In addition, there have been some changes. The original serving staff is almost all gone. The original serving
staff was all male. The new serving staff are young ladies with white shirts and ties.

This is a pricey restaurant. Entrées run from $20-$40. The other night I spent approximately $150 for a party of two.

This is quite obviously not the same restaurant. However, that can be expected when the original owners
are no longer there. As for me "Adieu!"
