Top of the world

Melissa says 15 years ago
Visiting London in January does not make for a warm city and it can be very overcast. Even with the skies gray and the city chilly the views were great. Those not easy with heights found the slow steady movement of the cars comforting. While it can be crowded in the capsules we never felt like we were missing any of the view. I would go again given the opportunity - maybe picking another time of year.

London Eye (Millennium Wheel), London - Reviews of London Eye (Millennium Wheel) - IgoUgo
The London Eye (a.k.a. the Eye) is a 450-foot observation wheel whose purpose is to provide tourists with a panoramic view of the city. Instead of seats like an amusement park Ferris wheel, the Eye has glass capsules with benches that can accommodate groups of people. There is a ticket hall in front...

I am scared of heights so booking the London Eye was not a terrific idea of mine but I was willing to give it a go as I never know if this is something that will get repeated so as we boarded the London Eye I wondered how fast it would actually go but it goes as slow as the cable cars that you see i...

London Eye - London - Sightseeing - QYPE
Having driven past it for several years now on our way to Waterloo, we decided it was time to get on it to discover London's sky line. In summary it's OK, not "wow" as you may expect when you step in. The most impressive bit is the structure itself really which is very elegant and impressi...

The wheel never stops its revolution; it is constantly moving slowly enough that the 8-10 people ushered into a given capsule can simply walk on. The capsule is then closed. It takes about 30 minutes to make a full revolution—just long enough to see plenty, but short enough that no one gets bored. E...
