Pasman is a municipality and an island with a population of 450. Several other settlements are located an the island: Zdrebac, Dobropoljana and Nevidjane. The island has been inhabited since the” prehistoric times. Refuges surge to this area in the time of the Turks. From the year 1050 it is owned by the Biograd diocese and in 1126 it becomes and estate of the Zadar archbishopric. A Franciscan monastery exists on the island in Kraj since the 13th century. The parish church of Mary's Birth was built in 1885. On the celebration of the 600,h anniversary of the Franciscan monastery a 3 meters high sculpture of St. Francis in black African stone by Jaki Gregov, a Franciscan monastery monk from Kraj.
