Runovici is a place with a population of 2520 on the Imotski-Dubrava road in the souteastern part of the Imotski plain. The county consists of further two settlements: Podosje and Slivno. Today’s Runovici was once the location of the Roman town Novay, which had its own, independent administration. The 6C basilica was restored in the 9C during the reign of the Croatian viceroy Branimir. Its ruins are located in the vicinity. The parish church of the Lady of Carmel was built in 1869. There are several stors, an inn and a small dairy in the place. | |
