Zlarin is the name of an island but also of a settlement on the same island, with a population of 360. The island spreads over 8.2 square km. The altitude is 4 m. The islanders are known as excellent sailors, fishermen and coral gatherers. There are five churches in Zlarin, all dating from different historical periods, and a statue honoring the sailors who died in the Second World War. The art of coral-shaping is brought to perfection in Zlarin. The highest point of the island is Klepec, 170 m. The name of the local hotel is "Koralj".
